What's a good price to sell a 1080 or sli?

Mick Naughty

Playing my older bf games remind me how much better surround gaming is. Although the issues with bf1 make it difficult to enjoy.

Contemplating settling the 1080 and give up on this gen of cards too or get another and hope for the best. Gonna go to an older driver and hope it will play a bit better.

The card tries, I'll give it that but it's no where near enough, even the pair of binned 980's would destroy it in the other bf games.

Not sure what I could get out of it. Has ek black nickle waterblock and back plate. It's an evga sc but only has the refference cooler. Bought in November.

So u stress your GPU with another 2 monitors for nothing :D

Honestly, Im not into surround until the industry gets its shit together and implement SMP that was highlighted feature for Pascal.... Almost year later and I still havent seen it anywhere....

I notice image stretching in some games on single monitor. Surround would just kill me.

For used 1080 its easy to find a price range it sells for, go on ebay or craigslist and compare the offers.

Dont think  its worth SLI in this day and age... Games have problems running on single cards :D

What settings you run at?

If it is high might have to wait a gen or maybe 2. What you want requires a lot and multi card stability is far from perfect and despite more fps the actual gameplay could be less smooth because of frametimes. Thought that SLI support is not that great in BF1 but can be wrong about that. Kind of a educated guess but think your idea of SLIng 2 980Ti will bring you to 100-105 fps in this game, so destroyed is a big worth and that is assuming it runs just as smooth despite of SLI.

Understand that it all depends on the game and settings. So your setup might run fine with other games and BF1 m,ight run fine if you lower your settings.

Well I use the medium preset. Not turning it any lower then that. I'm not talking about getting 2 980ti's. Just comparing how hardline ran against my regular 980's. Very large frame difference. Isn't even in the same league at this point.

Also when you surround you don't watch the other monitors, it's called peripheral vision. But something is better then nothing. Can't depends on teammates in games like these.

Wouldn't it be better for you to just get a 21:9 curved monitor?

That was the plan, but after spending 1200 on that I would still have poor frames/time. I'd still have to get another card. If I could sell 4 of my monitors I wouldn't consider it. And maybe one of these cards I would take that chance.

IMO, this is the best solution.

Only concern is the cards ability to push that monitor. Just seeing how it does on my standard 1440p.

Check out Ebay, get an idea on the accepted asking price. I'm part of a local Facebook page for trading and selling parts, so check that out too.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Figured selling it to a craigslister would be easiest. Especially with the blower cooler on it. But they never have the money anymore. Bottom dollar people. More of a Zotax and pny kinda wallet people.

eBay is your best bet. I sold my 1080 in December for $550. Most go for $500-550 used. You also have to pay PayPal and eBay fees. Mine was $50 bucks iirc in eBay and PayPal was like $17 or something.
