Use motioninjoy. Set it up. It's not hard

I was able to use one by just plugging it in, but most games don't support it. It worked in Forza Horizon 3 for me. Ensure the games you are playing support it.

i had used the xbox 360(and ps3) 1 which did not work offline sorry for assuming the sames applicable for dual shock 4

Weird. My previous wired XBOX 360 worked normal offline and online

Does your system currently have bluetooth enabled or if not do you have possession of an adapter

360 controllers are basically plug in play. (assuming Windows)

Use DS4Windows if you play games that don't have native support.
