Steam link

so today I got the steam link. I liked it very much but then, I realized that it thought my xbox controller was a keyboard and mouse. I was playing fifa 17, which is a non steam game.

 

My questions/statements are

1) Does this happen just because its a non steam game?

2) My router is all the way upstairs, there is not way possible for me to move my router downstairs, even so, it brings up two more statements

3) My pc doesn't have a wireless card, it has to be plugged into the ethernet cord for it to get internet

4) even If I moved it, then the steam link won't find my pc because It wont have internet

Apparently FIFA natively supports controllers

Not sure what exactly you're saying about the router/PC situation.
