Hi im building a New Pc for $300 and heres what i wanted. I need to run overwatch at 60+ fps. My idea was to take a cheap qiad core prebuilt and add a GPU to it. Sometihng like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Dell+Optiplex&ignorear=0&N=100019096 601190702&isNodeId=1&LeftPriceRange=0 150 plus a gtx 1050ti or something, but that is too small and not a large enough PSU, and ideas / links?

if you can go to craigslist and ebay to find pc part. that computer is a good one for the price I would get it for the price and put a 1050 ti on it and cal it a day.

Didn't you already post two days ago? :P

I've already told you what you have to know. A mid-tower sized prebuilt, and a GTX 1050. Don't worry about PSU, just post here with a photo of it once you get it (tag me @Energycore so I can take a look at it and tell you whether it's fine to run with a 1050, chances are it will be)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

In most case prebuilt w/o GPU won't have a beefy PSU since they were not meant for powering GPU.

Right but we're talking about a 75W GPU here, even a 250W PSU can handle a 1050 + i5 2400

I don't know why I'm so against 2nd gen i5s... @JackyPhilibooty something like that system would be fine to pair with a 1050Ti (however, at that price point an RX 470 would make a lot more sense) and the PSU should support the 1050Ti just fine. However, do some research and make sure that you A: Get a 1050Ti withought a power connector and B: make sure the motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot.

Except the 1050Ti is extremely low power and would be fine on a 200W PSU :P

For $300, it's best to go used.

Cheaper motherboard. Just make sure it supports DDR3 and any form of SATA.

Most of them leave at least 100w headroom. 1050 is a 75w GPU if I last remember. 90% chance it'll be more then fine.

I vote 8/10 for that. It's fine as it is, however you can find better graphics cards using the rest of the budget for it. Something like a used HD 7xxx series would be nice :P

Not familiar with HD series as their naming are long for me. I might look for R9/R7 maybe

Basically:

HD 7970 = R9 280X

HD 7950 = R9 280 (Most likely going to find this)

HD 7870 = R9 270X (Better than 750 Ti)

HD 7850 = R9 270 (Still better than 750 Ti)

This is all from memory, and I'm sure on the 79xx cards but not on the 78xx cards.
