Is the Dell XPS 15 getting an upgrade ?

Is the Dell XPS 15 getting an upgrade like its smaller sibling 13?
And also will the new XPS get the updated Nvidia graphics like the 10 series?

Chances they get a 1050(Ti) is still slim due to cooling the GPU correctly. Kabylake obviously will with 5-10% increase in performance, other than that not really a groundbreaking update.

The current XPS 15 has a 960m with a 60 watt TDP, where the laptop version of the 1050ti also has a 60 watt TDP.

1050TI specs

960m specs

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

I'm using this data to judge this site's biases so people can post in a more objective way.

That is a very wrong way of comparing. The 1050ti is a denser chip, so the heat gets more concentrated, this means that dissipation of the heat is harder, so the temps goes up.

Pascal is a hot chip, that is also why the 1080 cooler is basically the old Titan X cooler. We are talking about a 180w TDP card with a 250w TDP cards cooler on it, yet the temps are very high. If you look at 970m laptops that got a 1060 upgrade, then you will see that temps has gone up.

You won't see a XPS 15 update until the quad core kaby lake chips are released. Currently you only have the low power dual cores available. I personally doubt that Dell will go with the 10 series GPUs for the XPS. These are business machines, not gamers, and the 960m is capable for what the intended use of the machine. The XPS 15 used the GT 750m for several generations and did not update to an 800 series chip.
