Lenovo Y700 laptop freezing

So this has happened twice within the past 2 days. I'll be playing games (in this case, Overwatch and World of Warcraft) and all of a sudden, my keyboard freezes but my mouse and game still works fine... Until I go to the game menu. I couldn't alt tab or alt f4 as well, the keyboard wasn't working. Once I go into the game menu, the whole game just freezes but background tasks are still working? I was still in the Skype call talking fine but everything was frozen. I has to force shut down, which I'm afraid that will start doing damage. I'm going to get it checked out on Tuesday but does anyone have a similar problem and how can I fix this?

Do have an external keyboard that you can use to test? It might be as simple as a broken keyboard but...it may be something else

No I dont. My computer is turned off right now and I'm too scared to turn it on

My family and I invested a lot of money into this computer and I'm just scared something's wrong.

Could be a OS problem.

Re-installing Windows might help.
