Green and Pink tint when overclocking monitor

Greetings.

Last night, I decided to take the plunge and overclock my BenQ EW2440L monitor to see if I could make rocket league (one of the few games I can probably max out above 60FPS) run even smoother. The overclocking itself was easy, and I managed to get to 75Hz on my first try, and though I was able to take it up to 77 Hz, I resolved to leave it at 75. I got through the process without a hitch, but the result? Well, see for yourselves-

As you can see in the pictures I've attached, when the monitor is overclocked to 75 Hz, I receive strange, strong green and pink tints in the white and grey areas respectively. Am I hurting or damaging something in my monitor? The result persists whether I use the HDMI port or the second HDMI/MHL port. The only other port available is a VGA port, which I haven't tried yet.

Regarding my configuration-

  • My Monitor, a BenQ EW2440L, is a 1080p 60Hz VA panel.
  • I'm using an MSI GTX 960 2GB with an HDMI cable. The HDMI port on the card is 2.0, while the port on the monitor appears to be 1.4, although I'm not certain.

I'd be most grateful for any insight or assistance you can provide.

Regards,

Aereldor.

@BiscuitMassacre, since you were asking on the other thread.

Are you using Nvidia Control Panel?

Try working up one hz at a time until it starts to look weird.

I got mine to 65hz on DVI, but anything over would change the resolution to like 480p or even less. On HDMI the highest I can go is 76hz until it gives me the Out of Range error. Just go from 60 all the way to as high as you can go until it starts to dis-colour.

It starts to look weird at 61 Hz. Let me see if I can drive 75 Hz 900p.

EDIT: same problem at 720p 75 Hz.

I guess some monitors are just different than others. I suppose you were just unfortunate. I'm pretty sure its thing that changes between products. My Crap 900p monitor was able to get 75hz on DVI when my pretty good H236HLBid was only able to get 75hz on HDMI. Its a pretty new idea, so maybe you just have to wait. Try CRU maybe?

Honestly, this was just an experiment. I'm alright with 60FPS.

Yeah same here. I CAN notice the difference in 75fps, but I wouldn't be upset if I couldn't.
