Are you breaking up with Apple?

DutchTexan

I have been with Apple for a very long time and I have defended them for just as long. I have been on a 2012 iMac for a very long time and had literally every iPhone in the past two year cycle. I preordered the iPhone 6 two years ago and now I am shocked that I don’t want another one. Same thing with the iMac, I usually buy a new one every 4 years. Now I am switching, which is much easier to do after I learned about building your own PC

BUT THE IPHONE?! One can not argue that it is the most refined smartphone on earth. I tried the Galaxy s3 instead of the iPhone 5 for about 20 days only to go back and conclude that iPhones 'just work’ really fucking well. Yet, I am breaking up with Apple entirely? I still cant believe it.

Anyone else feel this way?

Completely, honest they are not that different.

I like:

- The Different Power Modes (Specially Ultra Power Saving Mode (Estimated 1.6 Days)
- The Screen Looks God Damn Beautiful

- The Micro-Usb to USB Adapter in the Box.

- Incredible Fast Charging

Cons:

- Bloatware

Conclusion:

I rather purchase a OnePlus 3 and a 1070.

Now I am worried because non of that is really important to me.

Iphone is cool because it is so well refined. The galaxy line is cool, because the hardware is better, but I am worried I am going to get frustrated with the android OS. When I tired the galaxy s3 I kept thinking to myself how bad the operating system was and how unnaturally difficult everything was back then.

Honestly, both phones are a pieces of shit after a while. Look at iPhone 4s, it's probably shitting itself now. Both phones have the same life cycle.

Edit:

I misread your question. Both operating systems are basically the same. The S7 has Bloatware which pissed me off the most but I removed.

Edit 2:

The S3 was supposed to compete with the iPhone 4s, not 5.

Edit 3:

I stand Corrected. The 4s then the S3 came out then the 5.

One con is it has micro usb instead of usb c, but other than that, I absolutely love my Galaxy S7, and wouldn't trade it for an iPhone even if I was paid to.

My iPhone 6 doesn’t feel like shit. Maybe I should just not upgrade. Specs are cool, like computers, but for a phone it will get to a point where horsepower is irrelevant. It really just comes down to texting, calling, camera, youtube, google, trading account app, calculator, and a flashlight. That’s all I really need in a phone.

I can see that as a Pro and Con. It can really work both ways. I have yet to encounter a USB C charger to decide on quality. So I can't really judge pros and cons of that.

I know you weren't asking me. But the last iPhone I used was iPhone 6 Plus. Apple stopped innovating, for me it feels like their plateauing with slight increases, but nothing marginal making you want to upgrade.

Ask your carrier to Unlock your 6 and buy a One Plus 3. So you can keep switching.

For the most part my only experience with iPhones has been with my sister's 5S, though I have used iOS outside of that a fair amount, though not anything newer than I think iOS 6 or 7 on my own device which has been broken for around 3 years now, iPod Touch 4th gen

I really like the camera on the S7, it's the best camera I've experienced in a smartphone, I also really like the build quality and feel of the phone, the way Samsung rounded everything off makes it feel extremely nice to hold.

I am 80% the iPhone 7s will have one or more of these features:

* Better Screen

* Better Camera

* Better Battery Life

* Thinner

* Wireless Charging

* NFC

I dumped the iPhone back when it was the 3GS.  I had 4 of them break on me in a matter of 2 months.  Hated that phone with a passion.  So I switched to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and was in heaven.  And the next upgrade for me is my current phone.  Using the LG V10 and absolutely love it.  Have had no issues at all, really nice camera on it and tons of storage space.

I had an S7 Edge for awhile that I liked quite a bit...and was potentially going to use that as my replacement for my (now) 2 year old iPhone 6 Plus, but I thought I'd hold out for the Note 7 instead (I like the pen, and I wanted USB-C for some reason).

Obviously the Note 7 is a no-go at the moment, and because I have high-end in-ear headphones (Klipsch X11i), I'm staying away from the iPhone 7 Plus.   Just not a fan of having a dongle to plug in....

I might pick up another S7 Edge and toss my iPhone 6 Plus, or I might just keep my 6 Plus until it actually dies on me (never done that before!).

I'm seriously contemplating trying out a Windows phone as a change (950 XL dual-sim or HP Elite X3).   At the end of the day, email, text, maps and web browsing are what I use my phone for 95% of the time.
