PALIT GTX 1060 Dual

WereCat

Hi there.

Today my new graphics card finaly arrived so I was able to play with it the entire day and so far I am really happy with it. (It has no backplate though).

The card is reference PCB with custom cooler.

Specs are:

Base clock - 1506MHz

Boost clock - 1708MHz

VRAM - 6GB

Out of the box the card actualy boosts to 1913MHz which is really nice. But as the temps go up the clock goes down as well and stabilizes at around 1880MHz which is still prety nice.

Even when overclocked the fan speed never went above 60% (2200 RPM - which is actualy quite silent) and temps never went above 75*C.

For comparison. The card was never louder than my Fractal Silent R2 fans (140mm) runing at 7V.

However when I manualy tuned fan speed to 70% the card was quite whiny.

My stable OC is:

2108MHz Core. (drops down to 2076MHz under load.. sometimes to 2050MHz just for a while then back up to 2076MHz).

4498MHz VRAM.

This gets me around 14,400 graphics score in Fire Strike.

____________

I was able to pass the benchmark with 2114MHz core and 4600MHz VRAM with no problem but I had stability issues in normal games. This got me to 14,840 graphics score.

I was also able to finish the benchmark with 2114MHz core and 4650MHz VRAM which would MAYBE get me to that magical 15,000 graphics score but even though it passed the benchmark there was a ton of artifacts and glitches and the benchmark detected it and failed to show me the score afterwards.

Everything I done while OCing was without touching voltage. I used MSI Afterburner and I was unable to change voltage here. I guess I would have to get EVGA PrecisionX maybe? Anyways.. I am quite happy with the OC. I expected a lot less with my luck. ;)

EDIT:

Since I sold my GTX 770 before I managed to get 3D Mark I had no way to benchmark it. Can anyone post me FireStrike graphics score of GTX770 2GB for comparison (at around 1250MHz core, stock VRAM)? Thx.

GTX 1060 does appear to be close to a GTX 980 reference.

That's not a bad result at all though. Definitely try and see how fast it can go. That's always exciting. Crank the fans to max to maintain the boost clock too.

Then post here:
