A Cheap Cryptocurrency mining rig?

So, I have 500 dollars to spare and I am looking into cryptomining. I am currently looking for used hardware that is realiable and efficient. (Mostly Old Xeons and stuff) So I wanted to ask you. What parts would you recommend me to use on this rig? I will probably geat a cheap GPU (GTX 660).

I think this kind of thing really depends on what you are mining

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I think the most profit would be to mine minerals.

PC mining ... not sure, but there are some new devices meant for bitcoin mining, so mining bitcoin with PC (GPU or CPU), will most likely not bring any money.

No idea what else you can mine, but I guess that same device can be used for that aslo.

Ethereum is easily the most profitable cryptocurrency to mine with regular graphics cards. My single 280X draws in about $1.70 a day. Not much but requires little to no effort. You can go buy 5-6 of them on Ebay for 150 USD each and then you're talking :)

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

And once Ethereum switches to POS in a few months time (making mining redundant) you can just go and sell off the cards on Ebay for essentially the same price you bought them for.

you're nit going ti be making any money, you'll need a few giga hashes to make any on bitcoins.

if you're after something to do you'll be better off folding amd helping out cure a number of conditions.
