GTX 1060 Price leaked (?)

Megazero

When do the NDA for this even lift? There's virtually no hype/info about this card at all LOL

http://videocardz.com/61917/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-to-cost-249-299-usd

NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-2-1-900x437.jpgNVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-4-1-900x423.jpg

So according to this, the 1060 seem like it will NOT have a 3GB version (at least the spec sheet dont have it)  like previous rumor, and have the MSRP of $250 and "Founder Edition" of $300. So once again I expected AIB card to be around $280 to $320? Meanwhile the RX 480 is $240 so expected AIB board will be like $260-$280 right?

Is NVIDIA really pulling the same Founders Edition crap on the GTX 1060?

If the launch is anything like the GTX 1070/GTX 1080, good luck trying to get a GTX 1060 for $250.

Why is it "founders edition crap"?

If you don't want it don't buy it lol.   It's obviously working, otherwise they wouldn't be doing more of it lol.  Last I checked companies/businesses were very profit-oriented :P

Look like they are LOL.

And yeah, I dont expected any card to be at $250 at all. Maybe something like MSI Aero or ASUS Blower style one will be like $260, but most of them should be around $280 to $320

On a side note this is "old news" but it make me LOL. Some people pointing out that they are going to have some sort of Nvidia Event at Australia this month (and one is already suppose to start by now, which ppl on reddit assume it will be 1060 launch), and this is the post about that in Nvidia forum in Aus

What make me LOL is this

It's working because, apparently, people are very easy to part from their money.

Charging more for a reference design is ridiculous. I partially blame the inflated prices of the GTX 1070/GTX 1080 to the introduction of the Founders Edition cards.

Charging more may seem stupid yes, but fact of the matter is it's working and people are buying them faster than they can keep em in stock basically lol.

Founders edition is basically just the reference card, the worst design being sold for the most money just because they can.

It's basically Nvidia's new name for "Reference" card, and they charged $100 more for it compare to the MSRP. Which in turn make every AIB create their card near the FE price

Is it still hard to find in the US for the F.E. 1070?

F.E. cards for both 1080 and 1070 are plentiful here. It's the AIB cards are in short supply, except the less well known brand like XpertVision.

If the reference (a.k.a founders edition) is $300, then there will no card for $250, like what happened with the GTX 1080 and 1070... For $260-300 the GTX 1060 not worth the 10% performance increase over the RX 480...

Damn it! I wanted to buy the GTX 1060 and the pricing and lack of SLI put me off...(Why NVidia... WHY????)

Working, yes. Because it's NVIDIA. Doesn't make the fact less stupid.

Hmm... the RX 480 is $240 (the 8GB version) ref, say if we can find a AIB GTX 1060 for $280 (about 16% higher price than a ref RX 480) for 10% performance increase, I'd say it's worth it. Consider that Nvidia still have things like Shadow Play.

Not to mention that the AIB RX 480 will also be like $260+ too, making the $280 price only 7% higher than the AIB RX 480. Also... it's $20 more... like... 2 Big Mac in US right?

Doesn't matter how much you have to pay in the store. People will keep saying 1060 is a $250(MSRP) card. Only $10 more than the RX 480. So it's a good deal to buy the 1060, no price hike, very reasonable, blah blah...

I am talking about the 4GB Model as there is absolutely NO difference in performance(with the exception of one game) as Hardware Unboxed demonstrated... I don't think a 10% increase in performance can justify a 25%+ increase in price

in 1080p, current games, yes, I do agree. Though I still wonder why do they offer 2 version at that price point

So far I only see lower end AIB cards priced less than the F.E., like the MSI Aero. Most AIB cards, at least for 1070 and 1080, priced the same or higher than F.E. So you comparison is like comparing a MSI Aero to Sapphire nitro.

At least for the 1080, The entire ACX3.0 family from EVGA is under FE price, Gigabyte have G1, MSI only have Aero and Armor, Galax have AMP!

Also that's why I took the ref price of the RX 480 for the 16% increase

LOL the 700 series reference coolers were cheaper....The new ones are sexy, but the nice bit is underneath the card, not on the side/top...
