Yes, that will work. However G-Sync will stay deactivated.

Greetings fellow techies,

I was wondering if I could plug a amd card into a g-sync monitor. And yes, I do know that g-sync will not work ^^ I am currently running an amd 7600 series and am thinking about the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q. I will be upgrading to 2 GTX 1080 when the custom coolers start to come around, so then I will be able to use g-sync :)

I am fine with my current 1080p monitor, but the pg279q is currently on sale for me, so even though I can't actually display any game at a lot more than 720p, medium to low settings, I'd probably pick it up.

Theory is when you know everything but nothing works. Practice is when everything works but you dont know why. In this computer, theory and practice are combined: Nothing works and i dont know why.

Atleast i can manage Some things, like my current OC personal best.

Yeah it will just behave as a non-g-sync monitor without a g-sync compatible card.
