Just got a new 16gb ddr4 RAM kit... System only detects 8gb?

If you bought it used or from a shady site check the sticks to be sure they're actually the right volume. 

Try different slots, if that fails then try each stick individually as one may have been damaged or defective. If they all work and they didn't work together on different slots then it may be a comparability issue that we can come back to. How many sticks and what MoBo? since the board may not support the number of sticks.
