When Pascal drops a 970 will be the same as a 1060 or 1050 depending on how bad it gets abandoned and a 1070 will be above a 980.

I will buy new cards in 2-3 years. I think 970s are pretty solid for maxing out 3 years still

780 Ti got beat by a 960 recently. What exactly does that tell you? 2 years ago it was the top end card, now it's bellow average.

Highly unlikely. Next gen cards are going to have 8-16GB of VRAM. Consoles have 5GB of RAM/VRAM and next gen ones are going HBM 16GB. 3.5GB is not going to be enough in 2017

Highly unlikely. Next gen cards are going to have 8-16GB of VRAM. Consoles have 5GB of RAM/VRAM and next gen ones are going HBM 16GB. 3.5GB is not going to be enough in 2017

Wtf nvidia wont do 8GB in the 400 buck price range like they do everytime. And VRAM doesnt give u even more fps on the same card. The 970 wont be any better with 8GB. R9 390 is a good example.

Its impressiv how this cards still performs these days. Thats a sign for old tech getting not old so fast...This trend started even some time ago like the 290x a 2013 card is still impressiv....So i think 970s are really good pair

780 Ti is bellow a 970. It was faster than a 290X by 10%
290X is currently 15% above a 970.

390 970 are neck on neck but the 970 has way lower heat output and power consumption so they fit better in my sli build. Also i like the nvidia drivers way way more

Anything prior to November isn't valid. That's when the newer Hawaii drivers hit and increased performance exponentially

If u were right with the vram at 1440p the 970 should be a lot worse but in fact its just even or better

Look at the later 2 benches. Hitman specifically. I quote them "The 390 had noticeably less stutter"

wut i mean the left card and the right card... the oc 970 is far ahead the stock 390. stock vs stock here. The 390 is only better in cut or prescripted scenes. Also notice that the green 970 line is alot more stable then the red amd one. Less Drops and overall smoother

I think the 970 has also alot more oc headroom cause it isnt a rebrand chip maxed out. the gigabyte xtream edition can go up to 1560 core (with 65 degrees) thats massiv compared to the 390 not even hitting the 1200 cause heat

Mainly cause the AMD driver isn't installed. Look at the hitman bench
