But except for the mark, would a quality 500W PSU be enough for the r9 380X?

Yes 500w is plenty.

Hello,i want to buy r9 380x when comes out and i just built my new PC and can't change the power supply right now(my budget won't allow it) and I really wonder if my PSU can handle it.It'a cougar 500W 80+ bronze certified PSU and my other specs are:

-Intel core i5 4460 with stock cooler

-2x8GB kingston fury red 1600MHz

-Asus H81M-K mATX mobo

-5400 RPM HDD 500GB(i've got it from and old PC)

-2 case fans 120mm

I've calculated my wattage with this site: http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator with an r9 380 wich has only 30 TDP lower and it says that my recommende wattage would be 393,so for an r9 380X should be 423W right?Hope it will work.

Thanks!

R9 380X with that build will only use about 330-350W MAX for the whole system - but the Cougar PSU is still abysmal. Look for an XFX TS 550W - those are VERY cheap and fantastic for the price.

It's not a great PSU, but you should be fine, and it probably won't be very happy (the psu). Just upgrade it asap.

I already own the parts i listed(psu included) and i can't afford to upgrade right now.I just want to know if it will last for like 2/3 years without frying my other parts and i'm not going to oc anything,

2-3 years is asking a lot from a cheap PSU - half a year to a year yes but 2 is magical thinking

I don't know for how long you have it already, but the cougar staying alive for 2-3 years is a big task you are asking from it. I wouldn't keep it for that long, maximum 1 year and even then i doubt it will even make it.

Also, if it goes wrong (which won't suprise me) it might fry everything. Such things are common when you cheap out on the psu...

It's enough for a 290X - quality > quantity

Sirtec - now called Sirfa - are mediocre - SeaSonic, Delta and Super Flower are the best OEMs - they make the PSUs sold as SeaSonic, Super Flower, XFX, Antec, EVGA (except B1, G1 and NEX - those are FSP and crappy)
