Noisy P.C

Dan771

I have recently built my new pc but it is very noisy :/ i'm using the stock fans that came with my phanteks enthoo pro. This is my first every build I've done so I'm not sure if it is meant to be this noisy??? I can clearly hear it when I have headphones on when its under my desk with no load? thanks for reading

Just get some Noctua NFF-12 or NFF-15's. You will literally not be able to hear them with the low noise adapter, when at idle.

Thanks!

Asrock extreme 3 mother board

reason 1: stock cooler

reason 2: did you plug the fans into the motherboard or fan header? try to control them in some way

reason 3: does your mobo include some fan for the chipset - these can be real noisy

Im not gonna question the missing gpu or why you are using a 750w psu with no gpu.

But im gonna question why you are still using the stock cooler, no wonder its noisy, get a cooler master hyper212 evo.

Other stuff you can do is replace the case fans to some noctua fans. (Noctua NF-F12 or F14 depending on the size you need).

Btw do you have many harddrives?

Have you checked the temperatures? Due to bad mounting the CPU may be running hot and it's trying to relieve itself by boosting all aviable fans to the maximum.

fans were plugged into the fan header, i changed them to plug into the mobo to try reduce noise but it hasn't helped

u may need to adjust the speeds in the uefi, some mobos don't do that automatically

temps are normal i think anyway

26 degrees for motherboard

37-40 for cpu

Doesn't really help if you don't then adjust fan speeds in the BIOS... Phanteks fans are actually pretty damn good when it comes to noise levels; they're not quite as excellent as Be Quiet! or Noctua offerings, but they come really very close. I've got an Enthoo Pro as well, with all the stock fans still installed, and they are by far the quietest fans in the system.

On a related note: Are you using the included fan hub by any chance? If so, try running it without the SATA power connector, because that will force the fans connected to the hub to run at full speed regardless of the fan speed settings in the BIOS.
