I knew them making a Titanium Edition was wishful thinking... Classic Black/Yellow color scheme and triple fan cooler confimed guys! Also looks like its possible the accents will be LED illuminated and RGB so you can change it to whatever color you want. @Lays @jesper101996 http://videocardz.com/57340/msi-geforce-gtx-980-ti-lightning-teased-once-again

Edit: I just noticed how those yellow accent rings spell out "O.C." pretty clever haha

Maybe it's just a smaller fan.

Still there's space there for a third fan, and it fits perfectly... I go with a triple fan cooler. Place your bets people. :D

Why would they be calling it a duo frozr if it's triple fan, in the past they called the Lightning 3 fan cooler "tri-frozr"  I don't think they will put a little baby fan in the middle again, nobody liked it that had one, because the little baby fan barely did anything and made way more noise than the other 2 fans.

Seeing as the accents say "O C" and there's only 2 accents, I think those accents are surrounding 2 fans.

I don't know, because those two are the main ones? I don't even like their triple fans configuration anyways(so if it is dual fans then better). But there's too much space in between those rings. I am giving my thoughts while looking at the new teaser picture though. Maybe the"real" one has the rings closer? My bet is still on the triple fan even though your explanation is the one that follow through their history I admit.

Hmmm looks triple fan to me look at the right fan blade and the length of the cooler looks like it will have 3 fans. Its possible thats a prototype cooler they were working on for the Lightning but they decided to scrap that idea.

Just because they had a card called duo frozr 3 months ago doesnt confirm anything though... It was a leaked picture that was not meant to be seen by the public. Like others have said I believe it will be tri-frozr.

Unless they do something to improve their triple fan design I'll be let down.

I've owned 2 tri-frozr lightning cards, and the fan in the middle was absolutely useless.  It offered almost zero cooling to VRM (which is what they claimed it was for) and it made an awful amount of noise.

Oh wow, well like you said i hope they have done something to improve upon this new design. If its tri frozr its possible it will now have 3 equally sized fans like on the G1 gaming as well as Asus' new Strix card.

If the card is indeed going to be Tri-Frozr I would imagine the revision looking something like this rather than two bigger fans and a smaller fan in the center. @Lays

We can only hope, because the old tri-frozr design was pretty crappy IMO because of that little fan.  Not to mention to turn that fan down in software, you had to download PROPRIETARY software from MSI to control it.

Was great for benching though, it kept my 780 and 290x so cold at 100% fan speed.  Wish I could of watercooled my 290x Lightning that I had, thing was a beast on air, 1265 core & 1675 mem

Daaaamn! My buddy had the 290X too I can't believe how massive it was. Was dead silent, never went above 70c and boosted to 1200 out of the box. He also got it for 330$ off Newegg too lmao xD

Does the Lightning compete with EVGAs classified or kingpin edition?

Yes Lightning will be MSI's flagship 980 Ti which is aimed to compete with EVGA Kingpin, Galax HOF, and Asus Matrix.

Do we have a range when it will be released? I'm getting ready to buy a 980 Ti. Not sure if I should hold off or just buy MSI 980 Ti 6G.

There is speculation that they yellow parts will be RGB LEDS so its a possibility that the card will match your system. We will find out soon enough.

In past gens theyve always tried to compete with the Classy and not the KPE, so we will see if they want to put in more effort and throw in more features like memory heater & samsung vrams :P  (although they didn't really ever do anything when KPE was out since first one was 780 ti, and they only made 780 ti lightning for MSI MOA competition)
