Which Intel drivers do I need to install?

Alir

*For my Desktop build*

Which Intel drivers would I need to install from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+i7+Desktop+Processor ?

My pc Build:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Alir/saved/gMm2FT

Note: I have Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit

Filter out the list to only include drivers. I first downloaded 2 drivers (the other one is 32 bit). However when I filter out the searches to ONLY Windows 8.1 64 bit, there is only one download available. Wouldn't I need the graphics driver?

None of them, Windows automatically installs what you need, and updates them through Windows Update...

CORRECTION: "there are other downloads I'd have sworn I'd still need or could use, such as the graphics drivers."

I was referring to the Intel Driver Update Utility

CPU and/or chipset ones for the OS you have installed.

What do you mean?

I find that hard to believe. Why would Intel include these downloads in the first place if they aren't necessary?

EDIT: Can others verify this for me? Is this true?

It is true, though the versions that you can download on the Intel site are always newer.

Same for NVIDIA drivers!

no because it is included with the motherboard drivers.

Huh. I didn't realise that. Thanks.

The Driver version for intels' is "15.36.21.64.4222"

Asus' is "15.36.20.64.4206"

I assume Intels is newer then?

Though you mentioned in the (installing windows the right way) guide to pay attention to the date and not the version #. I assume you meant that just because a driver has a larger #, doesn't mean it is actually newer?

So basically should I just stick with Asus'? I assume it has been optimised for the board or something?

YES Stick with the OEM copy of the driver.  Its possible (and highly likely) that ASUS did NOT build the board to Intel specifications.  Often times, ASUS over builds it.  Thus that chipset will want new parameters.  Now I am HIGHLY for certain that ASUS would not have built it so out of spec that the generic Intel driver wouldn't work, still though you should use the OEM copy.
