Project Toaster [NCASE M1, 4670K, Impact Z87, GTX 970 G1][WIP]

Butterfish
Go to solution Solved by Butterfish,

Finally some news on the project! - well, it's not good news..

I want to first apologize to everyone who were following this thread and expecting progress..

Project Toaster is sadly over, due to my lack in time and interest in the build. It was a fun ride, but i realized that the case was just too much of a hazzle and with all the setbacks i had with months and months of waiting for parts, i just couldn't bare it anymore. The toaster has gotten a new owner - one of my close friends. He needed a small chassis for carrying around, and i thought it would be best to give it to someone who would appreciate it alot more. I have therefore decided to switch back to ATX for now.

I can't thank you guys enough for all the support and replies on this thread. Who knows - maybe i will come up with something new? ;) I will keep you updated.

Let me make sure i got this right. You paid $180 for all three monitors combined, or 180 per monitor. Either way, I may have to follow your lead and get 3 of those monitors eventually.

Ref 970/980 should come with a backplate yes. And on the SX600-G. Mine does make the noises I've posted in my build log BUT it's so quiet I was surprised it was raised as an issue. Unless mine makes the same noise just a lot quieter than everyone else's.

I think I'm going to get that a Dell 34" curved that will be hard enought to drive and emmersive enough for me but seriously. Monitor was the hardest choice although... I don't know if the 980 Strix will even fit in the NCASE yet.

I'm unsure about going non-reference. Everything is gonna get baked in there :o

then put some fans below your gpu and it probably is cooler, than in many ATX cases ...

I had to fight tooth an nail for a code, because I bought my card from the USA and had it delivered to Australia but in the end I won :D I wasn't interested in Assassins Creed or The Crew so that worked out really well for me :)

Yea, i couldn't really bother about any of the other games than FC4. If i had to pick one more it would probably be unity i think :)

Is the case easy to build in?

Remember a wise man once said, "You'll most likely hear/see more bad reviews from products than good, because if they get a good product, they won't bother to write a review, and if they got a bad product, they'll complain about the product" ~ SoftenButterCream

you most certainly have to do a little planning as of selecting components that fit together in that case, but the actual building is rather easy.
