How much CFM does a case fan need?

Internet Swag

I have 2x Coolermaster fans that run at 17.16CFM at 100% fan speed.

I also have 1x Xigmatek fan that runs at 90 CFM.

Then I have stock case fans that I don't know the specs of, but they're probably close to 15 CFM.

Do I need to replace these 15-17 cfm fans? My Xigmatek fan was $13 and BOTH Coolermaster fans were $5 lol.

Is my case horribly unbalanced?

Pretty much, Fans around 60 CFM are the best for most cases (obviously the higher the better though)

40-60CFM is the middle point. What case do you have? Also you should remember about the air pressure if you have a case that isn't very meshy.

Higher=better, but will be more noise. Anything over 40cfm is fine really, but you can go much higher if you can bear 30-40dba

Zalman Z11 Plus. Stock fans are crap in that case.

The louder the better, I really like the sound of air moving, but obviously not delta level.

And I like LEDs

Yeah, Zalman fans aren't very best.

If you like silence, I recommend Bitfenix Spectre fans, they are very cheap and very quiet with satisfying CFM.

There is a big difference between the sound of air and the sound of a motor whine at 2000rpm.

I have that running at 1500 RPM all day long. I made a mistake though the CFM is 75.3 not 90.

I would be surprised if you could find a fan that does 90cfm at 1500rpm while still being silent.

What are the negative side effects of me having a 75 CFM intake, but a 17 CFM exhaust? (for simplicity sake lets just say I only have 2 fans).

Then you have positive airflow, which is better for your computer afterall.
