Vortex makes a lot of great ~60% keyboards. I personally use a Poker II, and its a great keyboard. I highly recommend it.

I recommend these reviews.

Here is the vendor I bought mine from:

I've personally never heard of Vortex, so I cannot speak much of it in particular. Go read some reviews. Which, now that I think about it.. I did hours upon hours of research getting my keyboards, and from the 15+ review & comparison sites I checked out, I don't remember seeing Vortex on the top 10's or anything. So I can't really say I recommend it, but alas, check some reviews anyways.

Although.. It does look pretty cool; then again, so does every single Cherry MX keyboard with a Blue LED..

Here are some of the most popular & highest rated/reviewed brands and specific models from my research. I may have missed some, so, some include, but not limited to:

• DAS Keyboard (any)

• Ducky Shine 3

• Corsair Vengeance K70/K95 (and others)

• CM Storm QuickFire

• Razer BlackWidow Ultimate - 2013 or 2014 (the latter with Razer's own Razer Switches)

Roccat, Logitech and Thermaltake also have some pretty good mechanical keyboards. Keep in mind, most I listed are gaming based, but not all. That's because you mentioned LAN parties.

Anyways, hope this helped.

Cheers~

Vortex makes excellent Cherry MX keyboards, I'd heard of them for their 60% keyboards like the Poker range. I'm a proud owner of two of their keyboards, a 60% Vortex KBT Pure Pro green LED Cherry Blue:

A 75% Vortex KBT Race 2 with white LED and Cherry Blue switch:

Believe me, I'd not buy a keyboard if it isn't well liked and received by keyboard enthusiasts, hence I have a distinct lack of Razer keyboard in my 23 mechanical keyboard collection.

How about KBT/KBTalking? They also make the Pure, Race, One and Oni keyboards.

They're good. I'd sooner buy from them than most gaming brands.

Yeah, the Poker II is really well loved with Mech Keyboard lovers.

It's because its a decently priced 60% board, comes with full cherry mx switches, standard key layout for changing the caps easily, and comes in both Backlit and non backlit, with ABS and Thick PBT caps respectively.

Easy to swap the case and stuff too, if you want. Or add LEDs to the none-LED version down the line.

If not the poker II, look into there other Keyboards like the Race II which is a 75% board.

Qtan's store linked up above is good place to look if other places are out of stock.

if i remember correctly, kbtalking is just a vendor.  i think kbt is a forum or the name of a group of community keyboard designers.  they DESIGNED some boards, but vortex is still the actual manufacturer.

i might actually be thinking about kbtrace rather than kbtalking.

From my recollection, I am pretty sure this is correct. But still, and again, I am not very familiar with them! But it does look great, no doubt about it.

I'd buy it. The company is well known within fans of the 60% keyboard. Truth is, there's not that many keyboards in that layout out there (at least not when compared to tenkeyless) and most of them are strictly keyboard manufacturers rather than gaming peripheral makers (I'd be surprised to see a Razer/Corsair/CoolerMaster one).

Ducky has been announcing the Ducky Mini on their facebook account, looks great so far but is slightly bigger due to the metal case:

Here's a video of its amazing backlight:
