So, I've been having issues with my ASUS board for various reasons. Between USB problems and "i'm overclocked even though i'm at default settings" coming up every time I reboot, it's been irritating.

Never, not once, considered updating firmware. Askew mentioned to do it. 12. That's how many updates my board has had. Hopefully this fixes my issues.

lol damn , well they both use a fair amount at full tilt ... my 850w psu is struggling these days with my 980ti and 4790k

Wait what? How? I had a 1090T at 4GHz and 2 290s running on a 750w psu with no problems.

It's still two 290's and the 1090T was at something like 1.55v. ram wasn't overclocked though, just a regular 1600mhz kit left as is.

Edit:

The most I've ran was 2x770's at 1.35v at 1410Mhz core 2015 memory on refrence coolers on air and that was like nothing to it till the lighting hit then it was like "Yeah stop overvolting it please I can't handle the 1.42v power hungry Hawaii core"

lol yea , the hawaii is pretty damn hungry. but if you can cool the volcano you can throw down some nice clock speeds. i think my cards got around the 1250 on core but the ram was 1600 , and then the issues hit like heat , it was basically an oven , stability took a shit cuz the psu was/is acting fucky , and then it caught fire (one card did ) the other was sold just before said fire

Actually no card sag cause of the backplate and the faceplate and the support bracket that it has as well, the card is also only 2.5 slots

Center fan sounds like a hair dryer when at 100% otherwise its near dead silent

I report from Windows 10 the following:

[*]My Product Key via Technical Preview is blocked by their server. Will have to call them or wtv to activate it or something, I imagine.

I might not bother: "You do not need to activate Windows 10."

[*]Don't need a custom OS when I have Debian with KDE on tap. It auto-added my anime Windows 7 background (Microsoft account settings), so there's that.

[*]Installing all the things, I realized I can't use my PCI-e SSD as a drive between Debian & Windows. Debian sees it as four 120GB SSDs, while Windows sees it as a single large 480GB SSD.

I will trade someone this drive for a 200-350GB SSD of equal to 75% of it's value. You get more space, a PCI-e SSD, and ... yeah. It works great with Windows. Just not Linux. :| I can't deal anymore. Can't use it, so need to trade to something I can use, even if it costs me space.

I considered wiping it on Windows and formatting it NTFS, but I doubt Debian would care.

[*]I truly love Picture In Picture. Perfect for multi-tasking.

I could trade my 850evo 500GB but can't install pcie ssd cause i don't have a desktop, i have a laptop, so...
