How much radiator do I need?

Xaiux

Hey, just trying to figure this out. I have a 9900K at 5GHz, and currently a Strix 2070. If I watercool this, can I do it with 1x240mm or that plus a 120mm rad? or do I need 2x240mm? And if I went for a 2080 Ti used would the 2x240mm be enough? Thanks!

that has more to do with your fans and surrounding air temp than the radiators themselves, a 240mm will dissipate more than enough heat for that hardware but your fans will likely be above 1500RPM at full load to get the airflow required and your temps will be in the high 70's and low 80's assuming an average room temp in the 20ish C deg range.

if you have the budget 2x240mm is what I would go with, more radiator will never hurt.

I know Optimum Tech uses a single 240mm rad to cool his 10900K and 2080Ti. Although he carefully tunes and undervolts the GPU. I still find it unbelievable how well he manages the temperature.

In general, I won't use anything less than 2x 240mm radiators for a 9900K and 2080Ti.

It sure could be done but both temps (water and component temps) and noise levels will be higher. The actual loads will depend on too many factors to answer your question.

How much should you use? As much as you can fit. Simple as that.

Thanks guys, if I watercool I'll look at 2 of the XSPC TX240 radiators then because that's the most I can fit in this case.
