Help: Low budget sugestions for a family member.

SolarNova

Greetings.

I'm not to knowledgeable when it comes to the low budget options, I'm doing my own search right now but would like some suggestion from those who are more invested in Audio.

A family member needs a new set of cans for use in bed listening to relaxing music and on rare occasion audio books.

Features required:

Either 'on ear' or 'over ear',

Wired

Closed back,

Comfy,

Not to bulky,

Build quality needs to be good so they dont 'creak' and make to much noise when taking them off.

Usable with cheap Mp3 player. Low impedance.

Price Sub £50. (£50 is technically over budget so not a penny higher)

Location: UK (duh) :P

I know its a tight budget.

Would appreciate responses with detailed feedback and links to reviews.

While I appreciate all feedback, subjective opinions like " I own 'this' pair and i think its good" isn't very helpful.

Cheers.

Akg k92 smooth detailed sound for the price. Really mid focused headphones so for audio books and vocals these are great. Only 40£ on Amazon. It's pretty big though not my favorite in bed but I generally don't use headphones in bed. But it's pretty comfy. Decent plasticky but cushy pads and the big cups should fit over ear no problem. They are very treble light so awesome for listening to relax but sucks for those who like treble.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmm looked them up, i dont think they will work. Apparently u need a strong audio source, under powered units like a cheap MP3 player wont match well. I should probably add that to my OP.

Ah I felt my laptop and phone powered them pretty well. The akg k52 and k72 should also be pretty easy to power.

Otherwise the ath m20x weren't bad.

They wouldn't be my first choice in this price range but I've been using the M20x for years and they're truly great headphones for the price.

So far it looking like it will be the Soundcore Anker Life Q20 , reviewed by rtings.com as being a solid option, arguably better than the m20x. though would appreciate more options.

Family member wants to order it tomorrow, what ever it ends up being.
