Help me chose my CPU

RaydenRS

My question is, what will the NH-L9I handle as cooling capabilities go.

I want to build a pc that can only house a L9I, I want to know if I can put a i9 9900 non K under it and still be in happy temps land. If this is not possible would changing it out for a 9700 do it? Maybe changing out the included fan to a industrial PPC noctua fan? If anyone has suggestions leave em below.

I have no use in people telling me the TDP and wattage thats on the intel site, I'm well aware that the intel site says 65W but in reality the I9 9900 doesn't even come close to this efficient.

No I am not going with Ryzen I know they have great offerings but I dont like jumping on the new tech train. If your not convinced, Jayz made a whole video about why new tech is great but not always reliable.

you probably wil be able to run a i9 but you may want to have some limitations in place incase your workload might overheat your cpu. a 9700 could be a safer bet

PC specs:

Ryzen 9 3900X overclocked to 4.3-4.4 GHz

Corsair H100i platinum

32 GB Trident Z RGB 3200 MHz 14-14-14-34

RTX 2060

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge wifi

NZXT H510

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

2 TB WD hard drive

Corsair RM 750 Watt

ASUS ROG PG248Q

Razer Ornata Chroma

Razer Firefly

Razer Deathadder 2013

Logitech G935 Wireless

If you just want someone to tell you its ok to shove an i9 9900 under a L91 , you can just say that. But keep in mind a lot of people here are going to want you to do something more reliable and aren;t willing to dish out bad advice so quickly.

I'd recommend you ask the same question on a subreddit as people are much more willing to give more comedic answers or just bad advice just to see someone else actually go through with it.

My advice... dont do it unless the cpu is mostly idle at all times.

Most people here don’t like to give advice at all. They will tell you to use Google.

if you see anyone telling you to google something report it to a mod as it's against the standards

From the limited material I could scrap together, a 9900 non-k shouldn't thermal throttle under an L9, but temps will run quite high, would recommend more cooler if possible, if not the 9900 will manage
