Which GPU?

Eong

Hey,

My friend has the Gigabyte B450M DS3H AMD Ryzen Micro-ATX DDR4 Motherboard, paired with the 2600 and GT 710, but they'd like to start gaming and are considering a 5600 XT, would the mobo be a bottleneck?

Kind regards,

Eong

PCie gen 4 has shown to be relevant in only one circumstance for gaming:

When an RX 5500 XT with only 4GB of vram runs out of memory, and needs to use the x8 bus to communicate with the system memory

aside from that, any old GPU on any old motherboard is quite alrighht.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Technically yes

The wattage is more than enough

The PSU is subpart

So if you already don't have it

Get a cx450 or a 550

If you already do , it'll do the job but I would advise to upgrade later.

Also quote people so they can see your reply

They've already been using the PC for like 2 years, just deciding to upgrade the GPU.

As I said

It is enough. But do plan a PSU upgrade down the line.
