Stock will work fine. Look for a stock intel lga 775 cooler. Should be about 5 bucks.

If you have the SFF version (kinda looks like that board?), absolutely not. If you have the mini-tower, yes, sort of, some smaller tower coolers can be made to work, but I hope you like zip ties and janky installs.

BTX motherboards and systems are designed to work differently. The cooler holes are in different places and stock LGA 775 coolers won't work. The idea behind BTX was to improve system cooling by putting the CPU right up near the front and using the front intake fan to push air through the heat sink. Rather than try to fit a square peg into a round and inflexible hole, go on eBay and find the copper-plated version of the standard GX620 cooler. I think it's the same as used for all of the old gray stainless steel Optis. If your fan is dead and that's why you're replacing it, there are adapters for a couple bucks on eBay that will let you use any 120mm fan.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

The Intel stock cooler will be infinitely worse than the standard Dell cooler. Also, it won't fit the board, so it really won't work at all.

Thanks for the advice. Also another question, does the dell optiplex gx620 support more than 2gb per ram stick (not total capacity)

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Even if it did, 4GB sticks of Intel-compatible, non-ECC RAM are stupid expensive.
