No signal to monitor

dukeb86

I want to connect a monitor to my laptop through usb-a to hdmi. I bought a couple adapters (usb-a to usb-c) and (usb-c to hdmi) (links below) thinking this would do the trick, couldnt find usb-a to hdmi locally. However when plugged in there is no signal to the monitor. Is there a reason this wont work? The laptop has a nvidia mx250 graphics card if that makes a difference.

Is that even a thing? This is the first I've heard about that.

Do you not just have a regular HDMI cable you can try? Do isolate the issue? Or just to use?

Haha no. USB A doesn't do video out.

It actually does. It's called displaylink.

OP you an actual displaylink capable cable/adapter/dock . Going through random usb adapters will not work
