Microphone sounds better on phone than on pc

I have recently purchased the V-Moda BoomPro microphone, but am disappointed with the sound quality. But I suspect that it isn't the mic's fault, because it sounds much better recorded on my phone than on my PC (listened to it on the same headphones and both on PC and phone). What can I do to improve the sound quality?

Most likely because they have different frequency response and you like the phone’s response.

In what way does the phone recording sound better? Are you using the same application with the same microphone settings?
