Case Consideration

Mind_001

I have a SuperMicro motherboard. It's an M-ATX. https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon3000/3200/X7SBL-LN2.cfm

(I'll mess with the RAM configuration later)

Anyway, I plan to use it as an NAS/Server.

The dilemma I have is that, I have no case that can hold 4-6 HDDs. (I got rid of my older ones before I moved last year) I will not be using a gfx card on this. However, if I NEED to, it will be a singly slot one.

Should I be looking at a normal case, or a 1/2/3/4u? Or perhaps a server tower?

I have been sniffing around, and I saw this: https://www.newegg.com/black-fractal-design-node-micro-atx-cube-case/p/N82E16811352047

Has loads of fans. (quiet fans at that) and it has 2x 3 HDD racks. Can't see it in the pictures, but does show it in video. Dust filters as well.

What should I be looking at?

Edit: Sorry, I just like Fractal Design. Also I have everything ready, mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, just need case.

Sorry, but I'm not paying $350....

I have been looking at the CollerMaster HAF 912. I had one of those, actually. Gave it to a friend.

Only thing that worries me with that case is the side-facing fans. Fans are supposed to be on front going to the back & top. Just looks weirtd to me.

Those fans are specifically meant to cool the HDD's, which is arguably more important in a NAS than a gaming system would be for the rest of the PC. Havimg multiple drive stacked on top of one another without active cooling is generally not the best idea.
