Cooler Master H500M extra fans?

ldwilliams

I have a CM H500M case that has the stock 2 x 200mm ARGB fans in the front and the 140mm exhaust in the rear.
MB is a Gigabyte X470 gaming 7 wifi and a Ryzen 9 3900x with a Noctua NH-D15S for the CPU.
I will be using the mesh front for best air flow.

I also have another 2 x 200mm ARGB CM fans which can go in the top.

My questions are - is it worth using them or would the configuration be good enough stock configuration?
Also, If used would they be better set up as exhaust or intake in the top?

Thanks

I have the older 500 without out the mesh. Using the 2700x /5700xt combo i have nps with heat at all just using the 2 front and single 140mm exhaust.

I have 3 top installed just to fill the case and have never needed to use them.

I'm using the R-1 cooler with triple fans + the 140 exhaust.

Thanks for the info Defyant, now to see what others might be able to add.

My first build in two decades, lol, had a Lot of catching up to do Think I've made life harder for myself with the Gigabyte MB as that has a different ARGB layout to the others but managed to source another adapter cable.

There's already plenty of positive pressure going to be happening in that case. Probably don't even need the 140mm exhaust fan since your CPU fan is already pointed to the back.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yes, something to consider, reason I was asking. Wouldn't they add to the airflow and bring the case temperature down even more though? I know that you reach the point of diminishing returns (seen enough Youtube vids on fan numbers and placement). I may just add them and not connect them up / not have them running (at first anyway) and see how it goes.

The stock fans are fine and there isn't much to gain from adding more fans unless you want to run fans at lower rpm for less noise.
