27" Triple monitors!

Trickster

So, i have these ikea desks, with the cardboard filling, and have just had to take 2 of my monitors off my triple monitor stand, due to it starting to break!

I am now looking for a worktop or something, i have come across this. https://ikea.com/gb/en/p/ekbacken-worktop-light-oak-effect-laminate-70275227/

Would this hold 3 27" monitors on a triple monitor stand? i have a new stand coming also as the one i bought is garbage!

Update coming soon.......... ;)

Yes, it would work. If you're drilling your triple stand into the desk you're going to need a solid board at least 1/2" thick.

You're better off looking for 1/2" or 3/4" pine or birch board at your local hardware store. They'll cut it to your dimensions if you ask them to.

That's not bad, but you can save yourself a few bucks by DIY. You don't need much except the board and a stain. You likely have sandpaper and a sponge at home.

Then just get that countertop. As long as it's greater than the minimum of your clamp, you should be good.

One of those solid wood or particle board desktops will be more than strong enough to hold a triple monitor stand with a clamp mount.  With that, you shouldn't have anymore trouble at all.

Those paper-fill desktops from Ikea have caused plenty of problems for our customers using our clamp-mounted monitor stands, where they'd find one day that their monitors were face down with a big hole in the back of the desk!  The desktops are fine for anything else, but they're definitely not made for clamps.
