Brother finally gets an upgrade, stage 2

Fasauceome

Rest in peace, fallen prince. My brother's PC used to be indestructible, and I used it to solve many of my PC related problems, but his SSD passed away and had to be replaced. Well, I've constructed his new and improved rig to be a top tier gaming PC with a new i7 and modified the front panel to finally breathe a bit more, thanks to my friend Costa for routing the holes for me.

Old specs and internal pictures:

Current specs, here to stay:

Some of the improvements I made:

Went from a Rosewill Green 530W to my old Rosewill Capstone. His PC apparently shut down randomly a couple times while he was using it, so I made sure to fix that. I thought my power supply was defective but apparently it's fixed now, so in it goes.

The i7 now allows the ram to run at rated speed. The 6600 had the kit operating at 2133 only, so now we're at full 2400. I also dug up a stock Intel cooler with a copper slug so that the CPU doesn't thermal throttle.

The front panel now has holes cut to allow air flow, and it looks damn good. Many thanks to my friend Costa for cutting and sanding it for me.

This rig is meant to last him as long as possible, since he's not computer savvy. I did show him how to upgrade the graphics card at least, and those Intel graphics cards look perfect for his rig if those blue lights are indeed on their stock cooler.

I borrowed that from a friend to "do some tests with," we'll see how long until he needs it back (or until he notices it's gone)

My master plan is that I replaced it with the GTX 970 100ME in the hopes that he'll see he has a graphics card that lights up green and assume it's the same one.
