I bought a WL drive on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Generic-1TB-32MB-Cache-7200RPM-SATAII-3-0Gb-s-3-5-Desktop-Hard-Drive/150447421352?pageci=bb838fa6-96ec-4924-8783-454aa44cf422

I’ve heard mixed opinions on white label drives...

Do they fail often?

As long as you have a solid backup plan, it really doesn't matter what drive you buy

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

A white label product is a product produced by major hard drive company that manufactured for other companies (OEM Hard Drive Reseller) re-brand to make it appear as if they made it or for large volume special application.

But I also read from https://www.disctech.com/white-label-hard-drives-explained

Quote

White Label drives are ones that have failed in the field and have been repaired at a facility other than the original manufacturer's.

I don't know if I can trust ebay's definition... white label drives are probably just remanufactured broken ones. I feel like ebay is just trying to promote sells.

Run benchmarks and post them here to see more in-depth the hard drive details, we can give you a better opinion later.
