When overclocking the cpu and the gpu then probably around 300-400w?

Just buy a good Gold rated 550-650w pus.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

around 350-400w in load without OC. a good 450-500w psu will be enough

If you want an accurate measurement buy this.  https://www.amazon.com/P3-International-P4400-Electricity-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU  But, HWMonitor can tell you how much the CPU is pulling at least.

He doesn't mean from the wall He means how much wattage does his PC need from a PSU (what wattage PSU)

If I don't reply it's probly because I am in a different time zone or haven't seen your message yet but I will reply when I see it ?

Dont use those calculators. They are garbage and always overestimate

well it's true they tend to overestimate a bit , but the ''garbage'' calculator estimated better than you who recomanded a 550w psu when 450w is enough, cause his system will do maximum 400w without OC

Exactly only something like a kill a watt will give you an accurate measurement.

sure you just need to buy a kill-a-watt before you even have the PSU to see how much you're SYSTEM consume.BRIGHT

He mentioned he also wanted a quiet psu. Hence I recommend the Corsair RM550x as it’s nicr and silent - why 550, just to have something spare headroom for when upgrading the cpu and GPU in the future

Oh, recommended *

upgrade to what? another 4 hdds? the video card he is using consume 215w , upgrading to an rtx 2080 consume just as much 215w!! he'll need a higher than 450w PSU , if he wants to OC or go for a dual GPU SYSTEM,but hey it's his choice if he wanna pay more for a higher wattage psu

I'd say everyones suggestions so far of somewhere between 300-400w will be accurate enough for @GazCBG to be able to make a decision on purchasing a new power supply. No real need to get an exact figure, just needs to know that at least 400/450w (where most good PSUs start anyway) will be enough wattage for their system.
I think most people in the thread are in agreement with how much the system will use. No point splitting hairs.

So you're looking to replace it with a more silent unit?
The Corsair RM550x previously suggested would be a good choice. Also look at the Be Quiet Pure Power 11 units (400W or higher), they have a pretty good fan in them and should run rather quietly. They should also be a little cheaper than the RMx in the UK.

Hi,

So something like this:

Be Quiet 700W Pure Power 11 CM, Semi Modular PSU/Power Supply?

May end up going for the Corsair RM750x as it only £10 more

Reason for 700W is I am thinking about upgrades in the future.

are both have good upgrade headroom I have 750 watt G2 from EVGA.

You'll only need 700W if you're going with multiple GPUs. Most single GPU systems will run fine with a 500/550w PSU. The Pure Power 11 and Corsair RMx are good units though. May as well save some cash with the 500/550w versions instead of spending money on something you'll never need.
