Acer - VG271U 1440p 144hz 27" ips for $360?

vWORMHAT

Looking for a color accurate 144hz 1440x2560 ips monitor and this one comes up in pc part picker for $360 compared to its competitors at $400-600. Can't find any videos reviewing it... wondering if or has good color accuracy and looking for a good review

These are the other contenders, which would you go with? https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/overall-list/#r=256001440&D=120000,240000&P=2&X=0,57716&sort=-rating

If its IPS then you wont get different colors with different viewing angles.  Colors will be accurate.  However you will get screen bleeding and glows.  Also VA is better for hard core gaming.  If you do content creation on top of gaming this is good monitor.  If your all into games and just basic stuff in WIndows like surfing net watching videos then VA panel.

i'd probably go with an Asus MG279Q. it has good reviews and is a popular display, but depending on where you buy it from, you can try the cheaper one and if it's not good you can send it back and switch it out for another one

Nope!  VA unlike IPS gives different color light or dark and it is not accurate for Content Creation.  But for gaming its excellent.  If your hardcore gamer VA gives less input lag then IPS.  IPS just doesn't change colors on you depending on how your viewing the screen.

Thanks for all the info everyone. i do content creation and the monitor is mainly for that and secondary for games. I've been hearing everyone say its night and day going from 60hz to 144hz back to 60hz. i currently have a acer G257HU 25" https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D7hj4D/acer-monitor-umkg7aa002 but it doesn't have good enough color accuracy. I also have a gtx 1070 TI.

I'd just like to point out that Turtle is completely wrong and that VA panels do have noticeably worse response times and have no inherent input lag advantage over IPS panels. VA panels have better contrast, that is the only area where they excel over an IPS.
