Does my VRAM really need thermal pads?

I just bought a used rx 470 and when I opened it up, it doesnt have any cooling on the vram. They used it for mining and the VRAMs have blackened as if they were burned however it doesnt affect performance (yet). Even overclocking.

 

Its the first Gpu i ever bought that doesnt have any Vram hestsinks/thermal pads.

 

Should I buy some?

you can buy some thermal pads id recommend it could increase its remaining lifespan

If there are no coolers (heatsinks) on the VRM-s, thermal pads won't do anything.

watch some teardown video on your specific card, , if others dont have the pads, its fine then .

just some cleaning and minimal OC fot that card

Dont see why someone would take them off unless they were an idiot. Like the people who watches the new reports on mining and went out buying stuff.

I cant find any unfortunately. Its an xfx rx 470 4gb. All i can see online are the xfx variant where you can easily remove the fans but that aint mine.
