RX 580 max temp

Go to solution Solved by Crunchy Dragon,

As a general rule, you should worry if it goes up to 90 degrees Celsius.

80 C is a bit toasty, but it's not gonna hurt anything.

What is the maximum operating temperature for the rx 580? Ive been looking for it but I cant find it even on amd's website. My graphics card was reaching 89 degrees Celsius so I changed the thermal paste, adjusted the fan curve and undervolted a little bit, now it stays around 79 degrees (my room temperature its like 32c, I live in a hot place).

But I'm still not comfortable with those temps.. I guess I'm just not used to have a component that hot on my system. So do you know if this 79-80 degrees temp is safe?

79-80°C is a little hot but it shouldn't affect your card. As far as I know, anything under 82°C is considered a safe temperature.

Below 80 is where people prefer it, I know Nvidia has their blower style coolers limited at 83 or so which is a little toasty bit still safe.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

On wattman in the fan settings the maximum listed temp for the fan configuration is 85 so I guess its similar to nvidia

So it shouldn't hurt the lifespan of the graphics card

I'm used to intel or nvidia listing on their product website the maximum temperature, why do you guys think amd didn't do it on this case?

It is not their duty to do so.  I mean we all know a CPU can survive up to 100c then shutdown to protect the CPU.  A GPU can actually go higher in heat compared to CPU and still work.  Will it degrade ? I doubt it because by the time it does you will have a new video card.  These cards are built to go up to 100c so long as your not there your fine.  Just make sure your fan curve is done properly.
