Cooling for the i9 9900K?

Gibly

I just have a quick question... i have an i5 6600K atm and im trying to save up the the i9 9900K and a good enough AIO water cooler and ive heard that the 9900K runs pretty hot and im not sure witch one i should buy because ive never had water cooling before and i dont have any experience with it. Would anyone be able to tell me what would be good enough cooler? thanks allot :)

Edit... Sorry i forgot to mention that my case only supports a single 240 mm rad in the front and one 120 mm rad in the rear. My bad lol

The Thermaltake Floe Riing 360mm and Corsair H150i Pro are pretty good.

Also I hope you have a purpose for the 9900K (that's not just gaming), otherwise it'll be wasted.

Make sure you also buy a good z390 motherboard to use that 9900k with because the chip draws alot of power and can be quite harsh on lower end boards VRM so much so that it can severely cripple the performance of the CPU.

make sure you made the cpu top flat with sand paper as the recent Intel CPUs comes with a dome IHS... this will help you cool down the cpu efficiently...

I say get a Noctua DH-15 and you will be set, low noise high performance and you can get the same OC as under water.  Just matters how youc case flow is and how the fans are keeping the HS.  I hvae plenty experience with the 212 Ivo cooling.  You can get the same overclock if you get a proper HSF like I suggested.

Just a suggestion, but if you're going to dump money in to the God-tier LGA 1151 processor that is the 9900K, perhaps at least consider buying a better case, as it really is recommended that you run a 280mm or 360mm AIO liquid cooler, minimum, especially if you plan on overclocking. Most reviewers that were using a 240mm on their initial 9900k reviews saw temps very near or at thermal limit with what is basically a standard OC for these chips.

Otherwise, I would look in to a high end air cooler like others have suggested. Or you could be super ghetto like I used to be and have your radiator just kinda "hanging out" inside the case where ever it'll fit with zip ties. Not pretty, but it would work until you get a bigger/better case.

Worthy of note, reviews have found that 280mm and 360mm AIO liquid coolers perform virtually identical, so you don't necessarily need a case that would support a 360, thougu getting one that supports up to a 420mm rad would make your case more "future proof".

Nope. It's about equal with a good 280mm+ AIO, and in the top 3  or so air coolers (along with the Thermalright Le Grande Macho RT and BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4), but you can't beat the temps and OC you could get on water.
