Quote bug

XR6

Hi,

I was scrolling through a post on the LTT forums and then this happened:

1466059548_Screenshot(35).png.009e0cd53d40086ceb16784f78ea42be.pngIt says the quoted post was made 15 minutes ago, but the post by 79wjd was made 11 hours ago.

Could this just be a one time thing or has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks.

They probably edited it to quote a future message

I saw a 60GB Kingston SSD for sale, and it was quite cheap. I might pick that up. Thanks for your help.

I just went to your oldest post, quoted it, copied the quote, then pasted it here.

I meant to explain that, but forgot lol.

The quotes actually have the date fixed at the relative time of the quote when the quote button was clicked, but some javascript is used to update it to the correct current time. Either the javascript failed entirely (somewhat unlikely, and would mean that all of the quotes on the page are wrong), or that quote is missing the metadata needed to update the date (more likely, and could have happened because it was copied and pasted). Do you have a link to the post?

Yeah, that quote doesn't have the metadata associated with it, which will be why it's not updated. The post doesn't look like it was created directly with the quote button, which will probably be why.
