Is it worth it?

Hi all! i have been looking at Z390 mobos and i have seen them going up into the £400 range, whats the actual benefit of paying £400 when i could get for £120-£200. i know that there might be more features like more Sata cables and ports but is it really worth that much more?

Welcome to diminishing returns. You don't get a ton more on a lot more expensive boards.

What you might get is better RAM support and higher potential overclocks (usually due to better VRM's and their cooling) plus, as you said, more port.

The PCIE design might be different too, but there are no signficant upgrades most people will be able to appreciate in a 400 GBP boards over a 200 GBP one.

 

Please just choose a board that fits your needs and make sure it has good support for what you are doing (e.g. if you are overclocking a ton, get a better board for that).

If you don't need such a high end board, the money is usually better spent elsewhere.

especially on z390 i can't justify the cost. the aorus pro and master are ruining the higher end (that's a good thing tho)

For most people a board in the range of £120-£200 will be more than enough, should have decent enough features for OCing and I/O
