Arty reacted to mrchow19910319 in Monitor went black screen for a second whenever other big home appliances starts/stop.
Still related to power fluctuation. Same scenarios. Air conditioner kicks up, screen goes black.

Tried it,. Connect it to another outlet at the other side of room/.
NOthing changed.
Also I think I will unplug the connector of my air conditioner and give it another shot.

Arty reacted to W-L in How to safely discharge a transofmer?
Transformers hold no charge or energy they are just large coils of wire and a ferrite core, the only things that hold charge are capacitors.

Fair enough - I just don't really see the benefit of that over giving each user their own workstation, aside from "because we could".
By using individual workstations, they will be minimizing issues and any potential troubleshooting will be significantly easier to diagnose.

Can you tell me when exactly Luke was using his phone? Which episode and what approximate time-stamp?
If he was just picking it up to glance at the screen, that's not the worst, but if he's actually typing touching the screen, texting, emailing, whatever, that's no good at all.
I can understand checking a text message at a stop light (but not replying), if it'll take 0.5 seconds, but actually using the phone? Nope.
Also, fyi, even if the phone is dash mounted, most Canadian Law will prohibit you from touching it.
Basically, if you need to use the phone, it has to be completely hands free. Voice controls only (or steering wheel controls if doing things like music and answering calls).

Arty reacted to Zando_ in Car Speakers In Desktop PC
The computer speaker circuit board probs can't put out enough power. I think often car speakers use a 200W or more amplifier. (but I'm a noob to sound systems, and have no idea how they work)

Arty got a reaction from Zando_ in Thanks LTT for letting me stare at 4 black bars :'(
The top and bottom black bars are hardcoded, into the video, it's a 16:9 video with black bars overlayed on the top and bottom.

For this workload, Def focus more $$ on the cpu then the GPU, which you can upgrade or obtain later anyway since CPU lifescycle is a lot longer.
