i'd still say 2x980s
and i wouldn't jump on the upgrade bus for another year or three. by then you wouldn't add a TitanX you'd just swap the 980s for a 1270(s) or 1180(s)

GeoffreyPope reacted to Lays in How good is the Perixx DX-1000XXL
Not sure about that model in particular, but I have the DX-2000 XL and it's good.
My only complaint is, the "sticky bottom" is not sticky, it slides around on my desk WAYYYYYYYYY more than my old QCK for instance.

GeoffreyPope reacted to WinNut in Re-coloring of Hyper 212 evo
As long as you aren't applying a three-inch layer, you'll gain about a degree or two in terms of CPU temperature. Make sure you use stove paint as other paints might not allow heat to radiate.

The Build from Mr tomnus is also a good selection: I am not experienced in where to get windows as my father works for a software development company and therefore I have access to free OS. Add together the saving of the RAM which you already have and the OS and you can get a larger capacity SSD, case or whatever that is always good. If you are not getting an overclockable processor you do not really need to spend much on your motherboard so long as it has the features that you know you will use. High priced PC parts suck... I live in the UK where there is a 20% higher cost from VAT so I feel your pain on overpriced electronics...

Because you said dollars I'll assume you're in the US.
Here's the build I came up with. I know it's a little over budget, but for that price the R9 290X is going to DESTROY anything else. You can get Windows 8.1 pro for $15 on G2A.com. If it's too expensive you can get a 1TB HDD instead or an i3

Of course the case and OS are entirely subjective so feel free to swap those out. It comes to $950 so you have $20 to play around with to change things as you like (or you could shove an optical drive in there if you want) . You could change out the GPU for a 290 as it is within the same price range but you would need a more powerful PSU.

Trust me man i tried for about a month i even talked to his parents directly a couple times, they just arnt having it. Plus even if they finally agreed i would be too scared to build it because if a part was DUI they would probably act like i was satan soooo yea i think the syber wouldn't be a bad deal though.

He has a pc with an i3? just buy a graphics card for it and then he can play the game just fine, maybe upgrade the PSU if its shitty, or even upgrade to an i5 AND GPU with that budget

GeoffreyPope reacted to QUICKSORT in Need a new mouse and just have a question that bothers me
However it's better to decrease the mouse acceleration in the OS settings. And raise the DPI instead. Also the mouse pad you use can change the speed of the mouse. Different lasers can behave differently on the same mouse pad.
But that won't be an issue I guess. All gaming mice have adjustable DPI, which you will be able to change until you find that desired spot.
As extra:
My favorite mouse currently is the Logitech G502 Proteus core. I have tried almost ANY gaming mouse. I went to a display where they gave the opportunity to test like 40-50 Gaming mice from all kinds of brands. Before my g502 I had the R.A.T. 7 with a glossy finish. I really like glossy texture and it could be adjusted perfectly to your hand. But that mouse broke down 3 times. Those mice have a bad lifespan in general.
So the logitech g502 is the new winner for me. It has very satisfying clicks. Even the thumb buttons!! Also I really like the scroll wheel. I miss the aluminum base of the RAT 7 which gave it a premium feeling. But that's not big of an issue,

Yea the styling nearly put me off as well, almost any optical mouse or any Logitech G optical mouse would perform rather well.

GeoffreyPope reacted to IIIPHENOMIII in Need a new mouse and just have a question that bothers me
Logitech G402, Logitech G400(s), Steelseries rival, mionix naos 7000... just to name a few mice with perfect sensors (optical ones) which are the best for FPS games (especially CSGO).

GeoffreyPope reacted to SymphonyX7 in AMD Radeon R9 270 Sapphire Dual-X OC 2GB (Is it a good card?)
Excellent, especially for a card under $200. You can play most games on high or ultra at 1080p, albeit with modest amounts of AA and AF enabled.
Check the benchmarks below made by HardOCP. It's the third card on each picture, the Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X.
