Given how quiet Noctua fans already are, I wonder if it would be better to just have better cooling with a normal fan that is already quiet rather than sacrifice temps with a large passive cooler like this. Also, I don't think this will be able to handle a 9900K or 3950X under full load without throttling. However, I could be surprised. I await Gamers Nexus's review on this cooler.

According to Executable Fix, who apparently has a pretty good track record with AMD leaks, AM5 will have an LGA1718 socket. This means AMD CPUs and sockets will be physically more similar to Intel CPUs and sockets than before, with the pins on the motherboard socket instead of a PGA layout with the pins on the CPU, which AMD currently employs. AMDs LGA socket will have 18 more pins than LGA 1700, which Intel will use for Alder Lake. However, the AM5 socket will retain the 40 x 40 mm size of the current AM4 socket, according to Executable Fix. In the same thread, Executable Fix goes on the say PCIe Gen 5 will be limited to only EPYC Genoa CPUs on Zen 4. Intel is rumored to have PCIe Gen 5 on all Alder Lake chips.

If true, RIP PGA on consumer chips. I guess this could help fix the issue with the CPU popping out when taking off the stock cooler and bending pins. This means you'll also need to keep that socket cover now on future AMD motherboards in order to RMA it. I wonder why AMD would limit PCIe Gen 5 to only EPYC, maybe due to increased motherboard costs? Also, is it even possible for AMD to fit 387 more pins on the same size socket and CPU?

Update: Executable Fix has now leaked more stuff. Zen 4 Raphael (first consumer Zen 4 chip) will support DDR5 (as expected), but unlike Intel Alder Lake, it will not also support DDR4. Raphael will have 28 PCIe 4.0 lanes, up from Zen 3's 24. The chips will have a 120W TDP, with a 170W special variant also possible. Executable Fix also leaked a picture of the LGA 1718 pads on the CPU.

LGA pins are smaller than PGA pins, so yes, I can see it being possible.

Summary
A photo of internal testing of the CMP 40HX mining card from ASUS has leaked to Videocardz. It shows eight power-optimized mining cards which likely had adjusted memory clocks working in a cluster of eight cards. The photo showed the card running at 43.77 MH/s, higher than the 36 MH/s that Nvidia advertises. We have so far seen no AIB cards for the 40HX, based on the Turing TU106 chip (the same as the 2060 and 2070). This card features 8GB of GDDR6 and a TDP of 185W by default. In the testing from ASUS, the TDP seems to have been reduced to 135W. The same source to Videocardz also leaked the ASUS pricing, with the 40HX launching at $699 US. They also said that the CMP 30HX, based on Turing TU116 (the same as the 1650 Super, 1660, 1660 Super, and 1660 Ti) and with 6GB of GDDR6 will launch at $599.

I don't have much hope that these cards will alleviate the current shortage of GPUs, since I don't think many miners want this card due to the lower resale value. I wonder if these cards could be turned into a normal GPU like the 1060 mining cards could. Using these as a normal GPU would of course only be worth it if the price is lower due to it flooding the market if crypto crashes, since $599 for a 1650 Super-1660 Ti and $699 for a 2060-2070 would be not worth it, even considering the current market.
