How much would upgrading to a newer platform cost?
 
How much could you sell of the 920 for?
 
The difference might not be that much.

Upgrade the CPU and board, even though socket 1366 is ancient the price of the board is ridiculous. For X58 it's consider high-end so  it's
X58, X79, X99. The X79 supports the older SandyBridge-E and Ivy Bridge-E CPUs and you can still use your DDR3 rams, with 4 sticks it runs in quad channel. The X99 is the most current and support Haswell-E, also does quad channel ram, but it uses DDR4.

I would Upgrade and well the processor 

Go on ebay and get yourself a new mobo

I'd upgrade.
 
You can find some z77 boards on Ebay cheap and a i5 3570K for sub 200 dollars on Ebay.

if you can find a cheap x58 board on ebay or kijiji...then do that
otherwise get the upgrade

upgrade to a z97 (or around that platform) and sell your processor. Upgrade cpu and motherboard.

I would mail that 920 to me for further analysis.

Nothing. You're golden, really, at the point you're at. Slick is still running a 2600k if I recall, and even that can still handle most games maxed.

Nothing, everything you have right now is fine. Hold onto your money for a better upgrade.

Mine is really sad......Im 28 now, turning 29 in 15 days. I figured this nick out when I was 13 and needed an email name. Something to "admire"....Kinda stuck. And by stuck, I mean that I don't have enough originality to pick a different one.
