After saying for a long time I dont need a second monitor, I dont see myself living without one now..
    Its world changing.

It doesn't really matter what monitor you get.  I use an 32'' 1440p 240hz monitor as main and a 24'' 1080p 144hz monitor as 2nd monitor and it works without any issues. I wanted a 144hz monitor even for the secondary monitor as going back to 60hz would be tough.

My thought being was that some APs might cheaper?

Not sure how much area you are trying to cover.

The U6 Lite for example is about $100 (plus the cost of a POE injector if you don't have POE). Or Wifi 7 if you want.

APs are nice as they are easy to swap out as wireless technology changes.

For close to gigabit WAN speeds - ASUS TUF-AX6000 ($386)
    For close to 500Mbps WAN speeds - GL.iNET GL-AX1800 ($94) or Cudy AX1800 ($59.90)

I've not tested any of these personally, but what I've seen mentioned elsewhere. GL.iNET wireless routers come with an OpenWRT variant out of the box and are pretty good value for the money.

If you remove one and don’t have Windows anymore, you know which one has Windows on it.

Use something like crystal disk info to see the serial number on the boot drive. That should also be printed on the drive.

And the boot drive can be in any slot, and it really won't matter performance wise.

I’d look at unraid for this. Unraid is perfect for the “I want a NAS, but I don’t know exactly what it actually went yet” situation. It does cost money to buy, but it’s a one time cost, and in the realm if homelab/NAS/server stuff, the price they ask is extremely reasonable for what it provides.

For a NAS that FX8320 will work well, being older hardware it will use more power then modern hardware but probably not enough to really notice. I used that same chip in an unraid server for years and it handled plex and a few other minor things very well and I never had a stability issue. If you decide to go the plex route you can always throw in an older GPU for the transcoding and for drives depending on how many you want you can get an LSI 9207-8i in IT mode pretty cheap and you may want to use an ssd as a cache depending on the OS route/setup you go with. But that is a very solid chip and 24Gb Ram is more then enough for a basic nas even if you through in a minecraft server or add plex. Later down the road if you decide you want more you can always move to newer hardware if it's too much for what you have now.

Honestly, yes, in its most basic format, building a "NAS" can be done on just about anything.
Like anything, the more features you go for, the more resources it consumes.

But honestly, that would suffice for what you are talking about here.

Doing things like virtualization/heavy container use or media transcoding could start to tax that processor a bit, but for the actual filesharing part of NAS that should be fine.

I am seeing people report solid performance within the last year on a similar processor for the major out-of-the-box NAS solutions like TrueNas and SCALE. And those are heftier than other solutions

You can always add a USB card to plug in the 3.1 connection.

I've had this one for awhile and it's been just awesome. It's fairly powerful for what it is, but I've cleaned everything with it, including keyboards with no issues.

From what I've observed, Linus is basically telling us 'if you have a real job and a real family and real life issues, then you can't sit in front of youtube all day long hitting refresh waiting for some random video to pop up with some cryptic message on how to get in on the verified gamer program.  So he's basically lying to us, you don't have to be just a gamer, you also have to have no life and be able to type fast enough to set the world typing record at the right place at the right time.  Hitting the bell doesn nothing unless you have YouTube open 24/7 and watching it, or if you have no life but to constantly check email.  So we may be diehard fans, but not according to linus, his huge ego doesn't give two shits about us.  I never heard of this "first round" ever happening.  Thanks a lot Linus, thanks for getting our hopes up for the possibility to maybe get a card, then wiping your ass with all of our personal data you've collected.  I'll still watch your videos, I enjoy them a lot, and I really enjoy you and your quirky personality, but as for your promises to give us real gamers a chance at getting a card, well F-You.  You're full of shit when it comes to this.  Thank you for all your entertainment, but f-you for your bullshit "real gamers" scam.  Before all this crap went down, I had a 3080 on order with a guaranteed arrival date.  3 days before that was to come to fruition I had to cancel that order so the money could be used to pay part of a deductible for my son's medical bills regarding a liver transplant (an entirely diff. story).  When I was able to get back to ordering my card, this current bullshit went into full force and they were nowhere to be found, I've been trying to get one ever since.  Thankfully, my son still enjoys playing his Nintendo Switch, but since we already sold his video card, a GTX 1080 Ti for the money for the new 3080, that's all he has, the switch.  Then Linus announced this verified gamers thing which from my POV is vapor ware, so thanks a lot Linus, thanks a lot.  I apologize if I am coming across as upset or angry, but truth be told, I am.  At the entire situation, and the false claims of hope don't help at all.  I no longer let my son watch LTT because it just gets him excited and hopeful.

This is exactly what it is.

Yes, why can't we register as a verified gamer beforehand instead of from my understanding, you have to go through this process as you attempt to purchase a card, meanwhile, the faster typers have already bought out all of the cards.  If this program goes 'south' I hope Mr Linus loses his ass as far as subscribers and viewers go.  It's so tiring watching all of these reviewers cry and complain about the shortage while in the background of their videos they have shelves of Unicorns sitting in stock behind them as they "sympathize" with us, awe boo hoo, you guys only have 2-5 of each of these cards yet your so sad we can't buy them...

So we've already missed a drop we never even knew existed?  Fuck you LMG.

LTT isn’t really an impartial or trusted source of unbiased information.

When your income is paid by the brands you review, your integrity on the matter is pretty much out the window and LTT is no different.

That said, if you keep that in mind and go to other more trusted sources for your purchase decisions you can enjoy LTT for what it is, entertainment.
