If you're not doing anything tomorrow, you should swing by our PC Tech Support Challenge.  Jay will be going up against Steve from Gamers Nexus to troubleshoot and fix two PC's we messed up and sent their way.

You can watch the stream below:

    YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/LinusTechTips
    Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/caltane
    Floatplane: https://www.floatplane.com/

We're also giving away all three systems that we've built, so tune in for that. You can learn more about the specs through the link below:

    Twitter is wrong.

I am on Version 2004 Build 20170 - Insider Preview - Dev Channel. This is the latest and greatest version of Windows 10 in development open to the public. And my PC (~11 years old) which can sport a native Floppy or Diskette drive using the old FDD connector/cable.

Enabling it in the BIOS, makes Windows 10 File Explorer display the floppy drive as expected:

While I do have a 1.44MB diskette, diskette drive and FDD cable to actually try. I sadly can't found my 4-pin molex to floppy drive 4-pin power supply connector adapter cable, so I can't power it to test. But, double-clicking on the drive A:, make Windows perform its read operation. So it is all there.

I think those saying that it doesn't work, most likely is their floppy drive that stop working. I mean we are talking about age old technology here. Heck I don't even know if mine will work after all these years collecting dust.

    Summary

Micron Technology, Inc., today announced a comprehensive enablement program which will provide early access to technical resources, products and ecosystem partners. The Technology Enablement Program will aid in the design, development and qualification of next-generation computing platforms that use DDR5, the most technologically advanced DRAM available.

Today's news builds on Micron's January announcement of DDR5 RDIMM samples and brings the industry one step closer to unlocking the value in next-generation, data-centric applications. Companies joining Micron in the DDR5 Technology Enablement Program include Cadence, Montage, Rambus, Renesas and Synopsys.

Ram speeds are looking good,I am really interested in how long after release we would see a 6400 mt in the main stream or would it just be at first in servers before it would hit home grade products. I wonder how long we are going to have to wait for this to hit the mainstream and also hopefully ddr5 prices are not to insane at launch.

No. As long as Windows reserves drive letters A and B for floppy disks, I don't see this changing. Microsoft often supports legacy hardware on Windows for a very long time.

    Tinfoil crackpot theory?
This is why I don't bother interacting online a lot. Everything seems to devolve into silly arguments when all I wanted was to share cool TVs I was personally excited about!

Anyways, I don't see how what you're suggesting/contributing is any different from what I said... we should be in agreement based on what you wrote.

    1) Don't use the features, or just sandbox them (which I didn't mention cause I didn't wanna bother getting into that.)
    2) Everything else spies on you anyway.

Also, your third option of buy a monitor is illogical, if you need a large format display you only have so many options so just follow your 2nd option and for all intents and purposes you have a computer monitor... and if you need a computer monitor, just buy a computer monitor...

    Summary
As hardware gets increasingly more powerful it generates more and more waste heat. This can lead to thermal problems, especially with server racks that have the hardware packed so close together. Compact air coolers are hardly able to dissipate the excess heat from processors. It becomes even more problematic when one or more graphics cards also need to be cooled. At full load processors and graphics cards struggle with temperatures and can quickly start to throttle down their clock rates early due to thermal throttling.

Depending on price these could be really good, but also interested in how much of a difference this will make over basic air cooling in the server space.
It is also nice that they will you several options to depending on the U of your server, hopefully these will become more common in the future, but at the same time if one of these goes bad you will be in a sticky situation.

YAIBA TO ALL! today a lot of work, I leave the rear part suspended to focus on the front, I make a panel of solid recycled steel from my HP desktop, the metal structure of these old houses is really impressive solid and thick sheet metal, the empty case already has its considerable weight.
    here it is

to install the 360 mm radiator I need supports but at the same time I need to strengthen the structure, let's start ..

    measurement control and positioning ...

    now the most interesting part

I finish with precision files always checking the measurements

I am very satisfied with the result considering that I have no specific equipment and I made everything with basic tools
and if I can do it, anyone can do it.

    check that everything concludes.

fastening with rivets, I always check the measurements

the structure is now much more solid and stable.

    to be continued---

processing of the rear part which will consolidate the whole structure the panels are temporary, the tray for the motherboard (on which other panels and supports will be mounted) and for the vertical video card are still missing.
I do not rule out making other changes during the work.
I preferred to stay a bit wide with the measurements I am always in time to cut if I need ....

Just like I do a cardboard sample to do the various tests

when I am quite sure I proceed with the various cuts on acrylic.

I did the first and I use it as a "master" for all the others, they must be perfect .... at least I try.

    all done by hand.

after taking the right measures I assemble everything
the panels that will make up the rear will have thicknesses (now there are not) that will keep them tight and the structure will be more solid.
