_Elon_ reacted to Slottr in Is this a good PC for AUD$480?
    2200g is an APU

OP, imo you should look used for some parts like the case, otherwise it looks okay for what you have

Dual channel, OC that thing to 3000Mhz (tighten the timings too) and your R3 2200G will love you.

yeah, that's much better, There is a cheaper SSD by 50 cents, and this motherboard is well worth the 1.73 price difference.

Another thing to consider that hasn't been mentioned is that you have a big upgrade path with the AMD build. Ryzen 3 is coming out soon and you can drop that right into the same motherboard. So you can go with your APU setup for now, and later if you want some more performance you can toss in a Ryzen 2 or 3 with a GPU. The best you can do with the intel build is an 8800k.. then its end of the road for your computer.

The Vega 8 build, since 4 true cores are well worth the minimal loss in GPU performance. That said, I would get cheaper ram and a 240GB SSD instead, but you seemed to have come around to that already.

Actually your list is damn good. Go with it.
although if you currently have a PC, mabye you can sell it and get some more funding? 50-100$ can get you a dedicated gpu, which will really improve your experiance.

just go with list 1, but get cheaper no heatsink ram, and at least a 240gb ssd.

650 is pretty weaksauce, I really don't think anything less than a 750 ti is worth it.

Yeah, I'd look at the used market for:

    HD 7870
    HD 7970
    R9 270X
    R9 280X
    R9 380
    GTX 770
    GTX 780
    GTX 960
    GTX 1050ti

They should all be a nice cheap used buy, and be able to run plenty of stuff on 1080p at med/high settings. Great budget cards!

I would get the 200GE, afaik you can overclock it if you want to (i think it needs a B350 board tho).
I'm not sure tho. It used to be locked at launch but i don't think that's the case anymore.

200GE all the way or a used X3440 and P55/H55 Board with a decent cooler that will allow OC to 3.8ghz stable

that depends very heavily on the game, many modern titles will struggle greatly on a dual core.

    That is cheap!

The reason is that its an old CPU and got price cuts - something unbeknownst to the Intel Side for many years.

_Elon_ reacted to Fasauceome in I want a portable pc
Pretty solid, the best part is that the case accepts ATX PSUs so you could potentially save even more there (but an SFX makes cable managing a dream so if you prefer it then I won't talk you out of it)
looks like that SFX unit is rather low price so nevermind, keep it for sure.

The case is literally almost the size and shape of a shoebox, so consider that in terms of carryability. The size and weight will be easy to handle, but there are no convenient grips. Overall I actually like carrying PCs in this case, you get a free hand if you hold it under arm for a little while, but carrying is best done two handed.

Edit 2: here's a pic of the fan looks under the front panel (it's not a very good pic, looks better IRL, and a thermaltake Riing fan actually looks great)

It looks really good under the front mesh, the bright colors somewhat diffused and the monochrome appearance helps dilute the gaudiness associated with the RGB trend (unless that's what you're into, then RGB away)
