This is a thing - there are slot mounted brackets you can buy for the slot below your GPU's etc but DIY stuff is much more affordable lol

The tape is wrapped round the stick but some hanging off to connect to the GPU. some hanging off the shroud so they both stick and mould to the GPU shroud creating a cleaner and stronger hold.

I buy her a new one... she cannot complain she got a PC out of me for her birthday last August just gone.

I don't know why this is not a thing, as GPU's get heavier and I feel it can bend at some point of it's life.

Yes, but the GTX 480 wasn't $500 more expensive than the GTX 280 and still offered a moderate performance boost.
 
Almost every GPU architecture you bring up will be a bad example because we have not seen a price rise like this before.
 
Also, Fermi is remembered as being incredibly hot more than anything.
 
 

Why not go for a 1060? The 10 series have lower power consumption and you could get away with a 1060.

Take the recent nVidia release: RTX.
It is new tech, is it great right now? no. Will it or can it be great in the future perhaps so.
Why are so many of you missing some patience & common sense? nVidia has done this before with the GTX 400 series, it touted superior tesselation hardware and better DX11 than AMD. It was not showing this at first which is what everyone remembered it for, but move on a year or so later the GTX 400 line up decimated the HD 5K and even toasted the 6K series in a lot of later DX11 titles.
 
I expect RTX to be similar unless it is tech that does not catch on, then nVidia will have a lot to pay for, but knowing nVidia they will have thought this out properly.

I was a kid when the PS1 came out, so I have great nostalgia for the system.
 
If they release it with Fifa World Cup 98 on it, I might just have to buy this.
 
heck, Tekken 3 might be enough to make me buy it.

Then again, I could just go on Ebay and buy a PSOne console and some games for less money.

I found very little gains with my DDR3 between 1600 and 1866 on X58 and just opted for cl8 at 1600 since it would be less likely to have problems. I used Aida64 for my memory benchmarks though.
 
I'd say with the slight dip in graphics score on that result and the slight improvement between combined score and cpu score that it definitely did not make a negative impact.

Yeah those scores are basically equal. That's less than 1% different.

Samsung stuff are always a bit crazy. Either they perform well, or they blow up and catch fire

R9 200 - 300 series GPU's, and GTX 900 series GPU's are your best bet on 200 bucks.
