And on to making the triple screen stand. So first off lathing needed to be done. and then we started making the "stick" that we will wount a the triple interlocking vesa mount system on. Cut weld polish repeat:D

To give a mental picture of what 1 screen will look like. Professional measuring techniques as always.

    till we meet again..

It's waay cheaper to purchase all the parts individually and build the pc yourself. Usually prebuilt pc's have horrible component combo's, for instance an i7 6700k with a gtx 950, powered by some no name psu.

    Hello dear readers,

First off I failed and posted this on the wrong forum thread. Im sorry linus!

This build has been on sweclockers.com a while but I felt like I had to reach a bigger audience so here goes.
A bit over a year ago I started with my first major modding/custom project. The idea here is to make a seriously hardcore hardwood and steel computertable which looks effortless yet elegant. You'll be the judge of the result but let's get started shall we.

    Parts:

    CPU:    I7-5960x
GPU's: 3xgtx something (depending on what I can get my hands on when I install the parts)
    MoBo:  Rampage 5 extreme
    RAM: Dominator platinum 32 gb
    PSU: Corsair ax1500i
Storage: 16 TB hdd space with 5 ssd. 1 with os and 4 in raid 1.

    Watercooling:

    Dual loops
Radiators: 2x monstah 560 superthick rads, 1x alphacool 360 60mm thick rad, 1x 140mm 60 mm thick rad All in push pull.
Pumps: 2x d5 vario with ek clear plexi top. Pvm controlled.
    Reservoir: Custom dual loop
Fittings: too many to count (might do a list later)
Tubing: Ionized copper and hardbent acrylic tubing.
Extras: 6 temp meters loop flow indicators etc.
    Fans: 24 Noiseblocker pk2s.
Fan controller: Lamptron fc something with them circuit bords to connect 1 radiator per knob + 1 knob for each waterpump.

    Frame and build:

20mm thick quadratic steel with 3 mm plate steel.
Wood is a mixture of birch and mahogany.

    Sponsors:

    None so far.

Started off welding a basic frame to get ideas flowing.

Radiator "space"     First order arriving     One of the monstah 560 radiators with the fans on it     looking at this drawing it might be hard to believe were gonna get anywhere with this build but its fiiiine:D     after some word welding and sheet metal work I ended up here. With a place for my legs and the mounts for the side 360 rads (60mm thick)     From another angle.     Center console with gauges for temp meters and pumps. Will probably get this covered with leather or wood as well       Psu Mount. Worth adding is that I need to add rubber between all "moving" parts so the psu and pumps are therefor not welded to the frame but have separate supports where so I can soundproof them better. Again soundproofing parts with a 20dB output is a bit excessive but might as well.     And to the woodwork then. It's in its infant stage but what I did here is a guy helped me glue birch together and then drag it through a machine I dont know the name of. What I need to do is make them into the round nice wingshapes im looking for. I'm looking at a solid 200 hours of sanding and polishing here but:D
This is the wood for the front panel and the short sides. Dimensions for the table btw is 1650x780x190.

Hi again, still working with the wood but here's my new atx tray.
    The caselabs sm8 something

So I've been working on the profiled wood. This longer than expected and I still have a lot of sanding to do but I feel like sharing the results.

This is 2 out of 3 panels. The longer one being the front and obviously I need to cut holes for the fans and whatnot but it's getting there.

Here's some pictures of the upcoming reservoir. Sorry for the lack of updates but I've been very busy.
Anyways the reservoir is a dual loop idea where it feeds and takes from the same res even though it's 2 separate loops and pumps.

Started to get the legs done for the table and lathing the mountjoints for the triple screen setup. Loving it

    Some lathing for the lathers

And the table is ALIVE with legs. There's some angle grinding and polishing to do but it's getting there.

    Next update after christmas!

Thanks for all your input so far everyone, appreciate it. Actually giving me a direction I'm feeling good about.

Good point on getting rid of the sound/ wifi cards elektro, never crossed my mind lol.

Edit: With a better mobo, and 1440 monitor I'm at just under 2700, which is good  B)

Thank you for elaborating. Where's my chocolate?
You're getting into my head by adding that last part "(usually not that beneficial in games, but that is changing)"

How long until we start seeing games utilize the multi-thread?

Asus and Gigabyte are 2 WORST GPU OEMs you could ever consider.
Don't trust a PSU brand - REVIEW THE MODEL - CX have a bellow-average temp rating of 30*C, poor quality chinese capacitors and bad performance on the rails under load

you could be rigth asus is a smart company maybe they wait until a new panel comes out. But that all leaves the question: What now? as you have said before. i think the answer is you have to wait.

News to me, so I looked it up...no info since September. I just read through a 70+ page forum on the X34 and the problems it's been having. So, I'm guessing Asus is not taking any chances after seeing what Acer is going through. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap the PG348Q and start over, seeing as they use the same panels.

Those are either sold out or not stocked for QC issues at all major retailers in the U.S. That goes for all ROG monitors. Only thing available here is the Acer displays.

I'm rocking a ASUS PG279Q, and it's awesome! (27inch 16:9 1440p IPS  G-Sync 165hz  4ms). The 3ms tradeoff for the IPS colour richness was totaly worth it! And no tearing form 1 to 165 fps what do you want more btw; also coming from a 1080p TN 60hz panel

My monitor won't sleep correctly. Asked for help here but didn't get much as this monitor is still new. It wasn't Gsync. So games under 60fps was horrible. I'd get screen tearing in all fps ranges, and on top of all the issues I've read about this display, I've decided I'm getting my money back. So, I really need help swaying me on what next. I'm on a 16:9 1080p display right now. It feels so 2005.

    Ok...

I def felt a difference going from 1ms to 4ms, but was it worth it for IPS? I'm undecided.

I was still hitting over 75fps at 3440x1440 on alot of games I play.

Anyways, with the X34 being out of stock in the places I shop, I'm going back to 16:9(maybe next year)...4K TN at 60fps with Gsync and 1ms(more res, faster response), or 1440p IPS at 144Hz with Gsync at 4ms(better blacks and colors, high refresh)? Or is there something I'm missing?

2nd 980 Ti will be coming within a month or 2.

Just 10 months ago when I bought my 290 I felt like 4GB was a very future-proof amount, but now I find myself thinking of VRAM limitations when considering getting higher resolution monitors, and I start thinking of the 8GB 390(x)'s.

Am I overthinking it or is the VRAM actually increasing quite fast?

Streaming is a no. Because you often stream games. To stream games you need to play games. To play games i5 is better. Therefore i5 is better for streaming.
Video editing is a strange thing, because many times high single core performance is good for loading small things.
Rendering sure, but i5 is not much slower, especially an overclocked K series one, i'm pretty sure 6600K overclocked renders better.
